Travel Poster
For this project, I explored the relationship between design and information, focusing on the differences between narrative graphics and exploitative graphics. The goal was to understand how design can influence the way information is presented and interpreted by an audience. I was tasked with selecting a country and creating an infographic that highlighted different aspects of its history and development, including significant historical events, population changes, imports and exports, and other relevant statistics. The country I chose was The Netherlands.
For the design, I chose to use a primarily monochromatic color scheme, incorporating brighter, more vibrant colors to highlight important information and data. This contrast helped establisha visual hierarchy throughout the infographic, making the information easier to navigate and understand. I wanted to create a design that was both visually interesting and informative, while being mindful of how the presentation of data can influence the way it is perceived.
